2010 MCGISA Officers - and Goals

Current MCGISA – Officers
President – Gloria Stevenson, Todd County
Vice President – Mike Pooler, Wright County
Secretary – Emma Volz, Lincoln County
Treasurer – Brian Armstrong, Otter Tail County

It is an honor to represent the County GIS managers in Minnesota as an officer in MCGISA. I hope the work we do over the next year leaves a significant, positive, and long lasting impact for the development of GIS at the county level in Minnesota.

Based on discussion at the 2009 Annual Meeting, held in October at the MN GIS/LIS Conference, there are a number of goals the member counties would like for MCGISA to tackle over the next year.
Annual meeting priorities set:
Work with AMC - Formalize arrangement.
Work with MnGeo - Become a point of contact for counties, encourage county participation on committees.
Hold Regular Meetings – Build an environment for County GIS managers to share information, foster collaboration, to generate excitement (and expand membership)
Education – Develop GIS educational opportunities for County Commissioners
District Leaders - Actively seek leaders for each of the 10 Districts

MCGISA officers represent various parts of the state, this year to help everyone out with drive time we will try to move the meetings around, and work with interactive tv and other technologies when available. Meetings will be held Quarterly in Nov., Feb., May, and Aug,. The Annual All Member Meeting will be held in October at the MN GIS/LIS annual Conference.
